Hello pumpkin, plaid and boots season! Boy are we happy you’re here-finally!

Grab the whole family and your warmest plaid and comfiest boots – we’re taking you on a fall family fun adventure in York Region! Check out some of our favourite Fall activities

  1. Pick-your-own apple’s and pumpkins:Grab your wagons and baskets and anything else you require for a day out on the orchards and patches! a select group of farms still have some apples to pick and pumpkins to choose from and this is a perfect activity for the whole family to enjoy. These farms also provide wagon rides, tractor rides, corn mazes and a playland! Here are a few to note-
    Homestead Orchards: Pumpkins, squash, apples, cider and wagon rides (weather permitting)
    Whittamore’s Farm: Pumpkinland, Jumbo Pumpkin Jumper, Jumbo Corn Jumper, Bugs n’ Buckets Sand Toy Lot, Punchn’ Maze Game & 1,000’s of Pumpkins (weather permitting)
    Applewood Farm Winery: Apples,  farm play yard, wagon ride, animal barn, corn maze and Straw Mountain
    Brooks Farms: Pick your own pumpkins and some fall strawberries, Fall Fun Festival is on weekends starting September 9th and ending November 5th.
    Round the Bend Farm: Pick a pumpkin, visit farm animals, have a wagon ride, check out scarecrows and their families.
  2. Visit a fall festival or a fair:Kidapalooza:Kidapalooza Fall Festival will take place both INDOORS and OUTDOORS at the Markham FairGrounds on Thanksgiving Day Weekend, October 7 – 9, 2017.The event will feature Kidapalooza’s signature ​activity stations, interactive inflatables, stage shows local and artisan vendors along with Fall Festival exclusive activities: Pumpkin Patch, Rock Climbing, Scavenger Hunt, Farmers Market, Mini Golf, Gaming RV, Fort Building, Exotic Animal Exhibit, Farm Petting Zoo and sooo much more! This three day fall celebration will have families creating, exploring and playing together. Kidapalooza is committed to providing a hands-on, creative experience for families from all across the Greater Toronto Area.

    Woodbridge Fall Fair:

    The Woodbridge Fall Fair celebrates its 170th anniversary this year, October 7-9, with an exciting lineup of activities and attractions. Our Fiddle Contest will feature music from across Canada, as we honour Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation. Wendell Clarke will be with us on Saturday.Along with these special activities, all the regular features that make the Fair such a great family outing will also be happening, including DooDoo the Clown, a great petting zoo, sheep shearing, blacksmith, rides and games, a dog show, the Giant Pumpkin Contest, our exotic car show, and of course all that great fair food! There is no better way to celebrate our harvest season than spending a day at the Fair! It is a taste of the country, right in the City.


    A Fall Fair meets German OktoberFest themed event, Stouffville’s own OktoberFair is the perfect way to spend a crisp fall day enjoying a marketplace, a midway for the kids, hot coffee and cider, local breweries and food, and tons of fun competitions for the entire family! You are not going to want to miss this Fair. Saturday October 14th, 12:00pm-7:00pm, Stouffville’s Memorial Park. We will see you there!

  3. Nature Hikes and picnics: York Region has an abundance of locations to have a Fall picnic while taking in the beauty of Autumn. Visit our forests, trails and parks section to chose from one of many locations for a lovely Fall picnic.
