By William Shakespeare With Raoul Bhaneja
Directed by Robert Ross Parker

Since its premiere at Theatre Passe Muraille in 2006, this winner of the Montreal English Critic's Circle Award for Best Visiting Production has toured internationally to critical acclaim, including performances at the Edmonton Fringe Festival (hold over run); The Stratford Shakespeare Festival; The Banff Summer Arts Festival; The soloNova Festival in New York and a return to NYC in 2009 at THE IRT Theater; The UNO Festival; The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

This thrilling adaptation focuses on the three most essential elements of theatre: The Actor, The Text and The Audience. This production is "bare bones" in its presentation, but complex in its telling, with Bhaneja playing seventeen parts in a two-hour version using only Shakespeare's text.

"A MUST SEE…this is, of course, an extraordinary technical achievement, both of memory and stamina, but it is more than that. Bhaneja is a superb speaker of Shakespearean verse, making every line clear and conversational so that whatever minor difficulties a neophyte might have in following the plot with only one actor there, no one will get lost in Shakespeare's syntax or poetry. This is a production of Hamlet that many full companies could envy for its speed, clarity and theatricality." THE STAGE (UK)
