LIVE THEATRE SCENE

The doors open at Jake's on Main Bar & Grill (202 Unionville Main St.) at 6:30pm, with poet sign-up at 7pm and showtime at 7:30pm. Admission is $5 at the door.

The event, presented by Cytopoetics and the Markham Arts Council, is the second of six that will determine the first-ever York Region Slam Team that will seek to participate in the SLAMtario provincial championships in July and the national slam championships in Saskatoon in October.

The show will be hosted by Rajie and it will fill up, so be sure to get there early enough to have your pick of seats. There will also be a short open mic so bring your poetry to share if you are a little shy to slam. Most importantly, bring your energy because it's going to be an incredible show. See you there!
