Event Description

Celebrate the season with a trip around the world when 3x JUNO nom/3x CFMA winning Sultans of String perform their new Christmas Caravan concert, an exuberant show featuring band originals, world music inspired classics, and seasonal favourites to warm your heart on a cold winter’s night.

From fiery fiddle tunes to a Caribbean sleigh ride, this surprising and delightful holiday fiesta heats up when Sultans of String bring their signature sound to well known gems such as Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, The Huron Carol (with translated Indigenous lyrics), a djembe-driven Little Drummer Boy, a ska-inspired Feliz Navidad, a Turkish twist on Greensleeves, A Charlie Brown Christmas, not to mention a Gypsy-Jazz inspired Django Christmas and a Flamenca-fuelled Jingle Bells. The show features special guest and Canada’s singer to the stars Rebecca Campbell (Bruce Cockburn, Emmylou Harris, Alanis Morissette).

We’re thrilled to celebrate the season with this incomparable group as they celebrate their 10th anniversary tour, and with a brand new CD available tonight!

Be sure to drop in early this evening to take in the launch of Canada 1917: Comes of Age and Lesson Learned Gallery exhibitions. Reception starts at 6 pm. Cash bar, and enhanced gallery offerings for sale this evening.
