Event Description

From November 24th to January 27th the Old Town Hall invites you to an art exhibition showcasing the life and artistic endeavours of Frederick Hagan, a long-time Newmarket resident and renowned Canadian artist.

This collection of work spans over four decades starting in the early 40’s highlighting Frederick Hagan’s first years in Newmarket and transitions into one of his most substantial accomplishments, ‘Exploration’, a series of 55 lithograph prints resulting from his 1985 Canada Post commission where he was asked to create and design 16 postage stamps.

Through personal experiences, symbolic imagery and vast variations of the human condition, this exhibition will showcase the diversity of Hagan’s talent and insight into the mind of a man whose world was full of shifting perspectives.
